I am a Credentialed Mental Health Nurse and organisational safety leader with more than 18 years of experience across forensic, acute and community health settings. My work brings together clinical expertise, behaviour support, workforce capability development and practical safety-focused consultation.
In my current role as an Occupational Violence and Aggression Advisor, I lead the development and implementation of an organisation-wide strategy to prevent and manage occupational violence. This work is aligned with legislative requirements, human rights principles and best practice frameworks, while remaining grounded in the realities of complex healthcare environments.
I bring more than eight years of management and leadership experience, with a strong record of driving system-wide improvement. My practice is trauma-informed, human rights-based and focused on reducing restrictive interventions by embedding safe, therapeutic and least-restrictive approaches to care.
I have led the comprehensive review and redesign of an organisation's OVA training model, introducing a tiered, risk-based approach to workforce capability. This included e-learning, simulation and face-to-face training, supported by a scalable hub-and-spoke delivery model for sustainable workforce development.
My work spans governance, stakeholder engagement and strategic influence, including collaboration with executive leaders, multidisciplinary teams and lived experience representatives. I use incident data, risk assessments and staff feedback to shape practical strategies that improve safety outcomes for both staff and patients.
I am recognised for strong project leadership, critical thinking and the ability to deliver complex initiatives in dynamic environments. SafeSpace reflects my commitment to building workforce capability, strengthening organisational responses to occupational violence and aggression, and fostering cultures of safety, psychological wellbeing and continuous improvement.
